Water Filters and Water Purifying Tablets
This section of the volunteer shop is focused on water purification whilst you are travelling in remote areas of the world where clean and treated water, whether bottled or from the tap, is not easily available. Remember, many developing countries do not have the widespread water treament systems that we take for granted in developed countries, so you should always be prepared and carry some form of water purification device or tablets, in order that you can have access to clean water, free of stomach upsetting parasites, amoebas and bacteria.
If you are going to be in a city for you trip then you may not need these water purifying products as you should have access to clean bottled water, although it is always worth having something just in case. If you are travelling to less populated areas or feel that you may not be guaranteed access to clean water then you should definitely consider buying one or more of the water cleaning items below. They are all small and will take up very little room in your back pack or luggage. I had to use water purification tablets during my volunteer trip and I was glad I had them with me!
